| John
Keene & Peter Mackie from the Wellington
office of Veda Advantage (formally Baycorp Advantage)
will be making a presentation to us on the reasons why
every new tenant should undergo a personal credit check
prior to signing a rental agreement and then explain
what information is contained in a credit reports. Just
as important as getting a report completed for a prospective
tenant - is being able to make an informed decision
from it; John will give a few pointers on this as well.
Privacy is another important topic that will be discussed
by John during the evening; Veda Advantage who gather
and hold personal Information as well as the people
using their service both have obligations under the
Privacy Act 1993 which must be complied with.As
the Capital Property Investor Association is affiliated
to the NZPIF, members are entitled to belong to Veda
Advantage as part of their Annual Association subscription;
new and existing members will be able to sign up to
Veda Advantage on the night if they have not already
done so.
Things I Wish I Knew When
I First Started was a panel discussion
we had at one of the workshop sessions at the Capital
PIA hosted 2006 NZPIF Conference and we will be putting
this panel together again for a quick wrap up of member
experience regarding tenant credit checking after the
Baycorp Advantage presentation. If you do have a particular
experience that others can learn from, then we would
like to here from you on the night. Association members
and meeting attendees are also invited to submit questions
to Capital PIA and we will forward them to Baycorp Advantage
to include in their presentation or steer them to the
panel for discussion.
Members are asked if they have any specific issues
that they like considered to be addressed as part of
the evening’s presentation to forward them to
the speaker via your association’s office.
