After looking at
attendances at recent fireside meetings and getting
feedback from those that have attended in the last few
months, we have decided to make some changes to the
format, as a trial. We are going to stop the Central
City and Lower Hutt Fireside meetings and just have
the one fireside meeting that will continue to be scheduled
for the third Wednesday of each month. That meeting
will usually be held upstairs at the SO
BAR (formerly Jay’s Bar), 1 Disraeli St, Johnsonville.

It is also our intentions to occasionally hold the Fireside
meeting further north of Wellington, such as Paramata,
Plimmerton or Lower Hutt to make it more accessible
to more members. You will be advised in this newsletter
when that will occur and in the meantime we will call
So Bar the standard meeting place for the third Wednesday
of each month, so book the date in your diary for a
7pm start. There is plenty of parking available.
Benefits to Members
The idea of the Fireside Forums is generally to discuss
anything that members want to learn about. Recently
we have had members bring along property deals they
want to discuss and others talking about council consent
experience. We have also been talking about getting
leads. Although the meeting is open to any topic of
conversation it is sometimes useful to have a specific
topic that we can start the meeting off with. So, come
along with ideas or just come along to learn or talk
with other liked minded people.
Cost to Attend
This is a members only event and if there is no cost
to the association for use of the venue, there will
be no cost to members - good value.
