The Capital Property Investor’s Association (Capital
PIA) is the Wellington City based association for property
investors, landlords and/or property managers providing
opportunities for astute people in the this market sector
to network at regular events.
As a non-profit incorporated society, the Capital Property
Investor’s Association was set up in September
2004 as an initiative of the New
Zealand Property Investors Federation (NZPIF); their
reason for this was to re-establish and to ensure there
was an affiliated Property Investor Association in the
political heart of New Zealand. Though Wellington Property
Investors Association had been the encumbant NZPIF association,
their committee elected to withdraw their affiliation
to the NZPIF circa 2002 - 2003; as a result of this
a core number of members who wished for the continued
benefits offered by the NZPIF stepped up and became
the drivers of the new Capital PIA Committee.
In the first year of operation CapitalPIA started with
little money in the bank , a very small membership base
but with massive goals for its future. However as investors
are business oppertunist and a marketing oppertunity
presented itself when Capital PIA approached the NZPIF
to organise and host the 2006 NZPIF National Conference.
It was a huge undertaking but a small and dedicated
organising committee worked hard to pull off what was
described as the best and biggest NZPIF National Conference
ever. Through astute marketing the resulting Conference
was so hugely successful, Capital PIA managed to grow
its membership by 300% in one year plus as well as gain
a healthy balance sheet at the end of the event –
all in all an excellent way to cement Capital PIA’s
financial security and establish a credible member base.
